THE PUBLIC CONSULTATION ON THE LANDFILL PROJECT IS NOW OPEN!
It is hard to imagine a future landfill site
100 metres from a wild river, overlooking it,
and in the midst of several protected areas
Yet this Cantonal project is a big threat to the region as a whole: a gigantic landfill project that could pollute the Versoix river and surrounding area, which is a recognised site of natural and historic interest protected by a multitude of legislative statutes.
Fortunately, there are alternatives. Let us act now to put a stop to this insane project.

Where would the landfill be located?
And in the midst of this flows a river...
Known as the Versoix (in Switzerland) and the Divonne (in France) this river has its source on the upper slopes of Divonne-les-Bains, in the Pays de Gex. It then flows through the cantons of Vaud and Geneva, ending its course in Lake Geneva. Due to its prime location, the river provides a link, uniting all these areas and the many riverside residents and walkers who have enjoyed its magnificent banks over many years.

It is still possible act. Alternative landfill sites exist and the project can still be stopped.
